Amuro is the son of an important scientist on the Side 7. This probably explains Amuro's love for machines and technology.
One day, Amuro's space colony is attacked by enemy Zakus from Zeon. Everyone was ordered to evactuate, but Amuro was milling
about. He then stumbles upon a secret document containing information on the Federation's new weapon, the Gundam. As luck
would have it, Amuro then finds Gundam and must use it to destroy the enemy mobile suits. He is just a kid, yet he has the
power and know-how to pilot this incredible weapon. Amuro then joins the crew of the Federation's new battleship, White Base,
because he can pilot the Gundam. Amuro becomes the new Gundam pilot and fights enemies whenever there is a conflict. Unfourtunetly,
White Base is always under attack from Zeon, most of the time headed by Commander Char, so Amuro must constantly keep up his
piloting skills. We later find out in the series the reason Amuro can pilot this Gundam, he is a "new type". This means he
has special powers that help him learn and adapt in battle. His "girlfriend" is Froubo, and he invented a small robot named
Haru.
