Shinobu is first seen as a depressed, crying girl. Her parents get a divorce which forces her to move away from her home with her mother. She doesn't want to leave though. Keitaro meets her a few times and comforts her. He even invites her to live at the Hinata Inn instead of moving away. So she lives in the Hinata Inn now and cooks the meals. She's a very talented cook, too. Shinobu develops a little crush on Keitaro.
