Alphonse Elric is more than just a possessed suit of armor, he is Edward's little brother. When
the Elric brothers were still very young, their mother died. In a desperate attempt to bring their mother back, both Al and
Ed performed a forbidden act - a human transmutation. The brothers Elric had to pay a heavy price for messing with nature
- Ed lost an arm and a leg and Al lost his entire body. Edward was narrowly able to save Al's soul by attaching it to a suit
of armor. Now the two brothers are on a quest to find the Philosopher's Stone - hoping it will bring back to them what was
lost.
Alphonse is the more quiet and timid of the two brothers, and he's very curtious and kind
towards others. Al has always been in his brother's shadow when it comes to alchemy. Ed is a prodigy, but Al is close behind.
Al and Ed have a special brotherly bond. Alphonse would do anything for his older brother, Edward.
